Why Do Adolescents With Bulimia Nervosa Choose Not To Involve the Parents?
In most cases of bulimia nervosa where teenagers are afflicted, parents are often in the dark. Non-involvement of the parents is mostly at the insistence of the patient. The main reason for this could be that the family is the underlying factor in triggering the eating disorder in the first place. Studies have enumerated the various ways in which the family or parents have influenced the onset of bulimia.
