Why didnt the Sign ad hoc Committee pay attention to information provided by the Sign Industry?

Springville City received a memo from David K. Jones of the Utah Sign Association. Mr. Jones is an attorney who does work for the association. In Mr. Jones review of the ordinance, he identifies 22 specific concerns. Some of those concerns are legal and others are based on sign industry studies, along with two typographical errors. Of those 22 items reviewed by the ad hoc committee, 17 of those resulted in specific changes based on Mr. Jones concerns. The April 21, 2004 memo from Mr. Jones has been provided to both the Planning Commission and the City Council for their review, along with the undated Legislative Alert produced by the Utah Sign Association.
