Why Didn Obama do the Town Halls with McCain?

Simple answer. This was a ploy to try to get Obama off his fund raising schedule. McCain knew he was going to take public funding..he knew Obama was not. He needed to try to come up with something that would occupy Obama for the 10 weeks before the conventions…he didn’t want Obama to have all that time for fund raising. It was a good move by McCain, he offers a win-win situation for himself. If Obama accepts then he has thrown him off schedule…if Obama denies then McCain comes out looking like he wanted debates and Obama doesn’t. It is so easy to see this as a simple gimick by McCain. Obama agreed to do some…but with modifications to location and date/times…but McCain would only stick to his suggested date/times and locations. Those locations by the way took Obama out of the places he needed to be campaigning. Overall, it has no impact on the election…except for a few that don’t see it for the campaign ploy that it was.

Obama does not do well without a teleprompter. Give him credit for knowing his limitations and keeping them hidden from his adoring fans.

Actually, Obama said he would meet McCain “Anywhere anytime”…. guess that’s the FIRST broken campaign promise… and he’s not even elected yet!

Why would he? Thats like saying why doesn’t mccain play one on one basketball with barack. Mccain was obviously trying to play up his strength while limiting obamas (the ability to draw large crowds). I think obama did better during saddleback. His answers were insightful and well thought out. Mccain just told the crowd what they wanted to hear, no abortion and the only definition of evil is al queda.
