Why did Zero fight Iris?
Iris was stricken with grief after discovering the death of her twin brother, and was driven temporarily insane, if you will. She used Colonel’s spirit to enhance her own fledgling fighting abilities and essentially attacked Zero. Zero’s fight against her seemed more of self-defense than anything, and though he fought with the intent of holding her off without killing her, he ultimately failed that goal.
