he dead has arisen. Well, ex-senator Zell Miller suddenly popped up only to criticize President Obama. He told a group of mostly Republican lawmakers at the American Legislative Exchange Council, that the Rahm Emanuel, the White House Chief of Staff “needs to put Gorilla Glue on Obama’s chair to keep him in the Oval Office. Er, Zell, all Presidents travel overseas. It’s called diplomacy, which he seems to know nothing about. “Our globe-trotting president needs to stop and take a break and quit gallivanting around,” said Miller, a Democrat well known for zinging his own party. He had more to add to his rant. He also said during his speech, that President Obama’s decision to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay was “nuts” and likened the federal stimulus package to a Paris Hilton spending spree. At a congregation of the American Legislative Exchange Council at Atlanta, Zell Miller, a former U.S. Senator put President Barack Obama under the scanner by criticizing his overseas travels. Criticizing the President’s recent tours, he went onto say, “Our globe-trotting president needs to stop and take a break and quit gallivanting around.” He even suggested that Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff should put some “Gorilla Glue” on the President’s chair so that Obama stays in the Oval office rather than “gallivanting around”. The ex Georgia Governer’s remarks have not gone down well with many; some even criticizing his use of the term “Gorilla Glue” which might have some racial connotations attached to it, specially when Obama is the first African American President of the United States. While others are saying his comments must be taken in the right perspective; it might be the case that Miller had proposed that particular glue as it is one of the strongest ones available in the market.

Former U.S. Sen. Zell Miller criticized President Barack Obama’s recent travels overseas, telling a group of mostly Republican lawmakers Thursday that the White House Chief of Staff needs to put “Gorilla Glue” on Obama’s chair to keep him in the Oval Office. “Our globe-trotting president needs to stop and take a break and quit gallivanting around,” said Miller, a Democrat well known for zinging his own party. Two black leaders who know Miller well said they were not offended by the suggestion that Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel employ a bottle of Gorilla brand adhesive. The Rev. Joseph Lowery, a civil rights leader, noted the glue is a brand name. “I ignore it,” he said. “I consider the source and go about my business.” Democratic State Rep. Tyrone Brooks, who leads the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, said he wasn’t bothered by Miller’s comment, but that it came a few years too late. Sources:
