Why did you decide to work for Objective, instead of an other literary management company?
I believe that media is a fluid and so does Objective. The company’s approach to each client and their work embodies this ethos; we look beyond the just the book and ask ourselves what else can be done. Sometimes that means exploring TV, webisodes, or film opportunities. Why would a writer want to be represented by Objective instead? There are very few literary agencies that think in the way that we do here. The goal of most literary agencies is to sell your book and (maybe) the next one, but few acquire clients with an eye towards their careers as intellectual property craftsmen; as artists. OE does that. We work on the platform and roll over the success. Where/when did you begin your career? I begun my career at Carol Mann Agency and it is there that I learned the value of patience in dealing with one’s slush pile. Miracles can happen there. What advantages do you find you bring to to the table for a writer or as someone in the industry who is a manager that happens to be of color? T
