Why did you decide to do the Ashridge Diploma in General Management?

Having come to Lloyds straight from A-levels I was keen to get a professional qualification, so thought the diploma was ideal. Secondly, I’ve always had an ambition to do an MBA and passing the diploma would be my ticket into year two of the MBA. I didn’t want to go straight into the MBA as I hadn’t done an exam for over 20 years. Finally, it’s practical and flexible – I like being in the driving seat of my personal development. I started in September 2004 and my game plan is to complete the Diploma over three years. Which Open Programmes did you choose and why? I’ve completed Marketing Confidence. I’m doing Performance through People and hope to do The Ashridge Leadership Process (ALP). I chose Marketing for economy of effort. The idea was to do the marketing assignment, programme and exam as a block. It worked well. The HR element of Performance through People interests me. And the ALP because it sounds great, especially the one to one coaching element. What have been the highlights
