Video clips were chosen to minimize this feature’s impact on our Internet connection and servers. We feel that 5-second video clips should be able to provide the user an idea of what traffic is like without creating an unbearable load on our Internet servers. By decreasing the resources required to provide video from each camera, we are able to to provide video clips from a number of cameras instead of streaming video from just one.
