Why did woodrow wilson change the name of Armistice Day?
Woodrow Wilson did not change the name. He proclaimed Armistice Day to be November 11 in 1919 to commerate the Armistice Agreement of 1918, which ended World War I. It continued to be known as Armistice Day until 1954, when Eisenhower formally changed it to “Veterans Day” to honor all military members who had served in the subsequent conflicts (WWII and Korea).
