Why did W. Bush get elected president two times ?
why bush?? Answer: There are a couple different reasons why “W” was elected twice. In the first election, Bush actually lost the popular vote. Gore outpolled him, but lost due to the system of electoral votes. It seems the American voters preferred Gore, but this outdated system which assigns electoral votes by state prevented Gore from winning. In essence, Bush won by a technical flaw in the US democratic system. There are various reasons why Bush managed to succeed in 2000. He was helped by the fact that Republicans vote in greater numbers than Democrats. Bush also had name recognition due to his father being a former President. W’s predecessor, Clinton, also had some attackable issues (Monica Lewinsky and other scandals) which helped coalesce the Republican voters to elect Bush into the White House. There was also potential voter fraud in 2000, particularly in Florida. There were several recounts, and the whole process showed the inability and inadequacy of the US electoral process.
