Why did they stop using the metal rivets to hold the bubbles onto the Series 2 cards?
Cost! A little copper rivet can cost as much as 1 and a half cents! Do that times 6 and you have 9 cents a card + inking costs + plastic costs! Conversely, stronger glue would only cost about 3 cents per card, and there you have it! When you factor in the thousands of carded figures released, saving 6 cents a card REALLY adds up!
