The name “Xena” was pre-chosen for the next planet that the discoverers found that was larger than Pluto, but the IAU decided that since this wasn’t a planet and was not really the name of a Greek demigod, they chose “Eris” as the official name of the newly discovered “dwarf planet” after Pluto.
