Why did they make the changes to the Inova X1 Spotlight?

The X1 is no longer a spotlight, and has changed only in the reflector. Instead of utilizing a custom optic, the new X1 has a revolutionary diamond tuned reflector. The old lens, even though it projected a tighter spot, only captured 60% of the light that came out of the LED. The rest of the light was lost inside of the flashlight. In true darkness the old X1 was not as practical. If you were looking for something, it had no peripheral lighting. You would have to sweep the beam back and forth. The new X1 reflector captures 95% of the light – all of the light is coming out of the LED. It has a broader beam pattern, which makes it more useful. This was done as a running change in the product as it was a major improvement over the previous product.
