Why did the Village add a Storm Water Utility?

0

The federal government and the state have added clean water regulations that require the reduction of pollutant loads in Stormwater runoff and based upon our task, we felt it was the best way to accomplish our goals. While nobody likes new fees, this was the fairest way to distribute the burden as it requires all property owners, including tax exempt parcels to pay. If this fee had not been established, the monies would have had to come from the general property tax levy and require additional sums to cover those tax exempt parcels.
