They did not ALL move to Canada, some returned to England or moved to other British colonies like Bermuda or the Bahamas. The main reason that the loyalists moved away was that they were not wanted by the newly independent neighbors that had fought for and won independence. After the war ended, combinations of people who were upset with active participation against independence or just loyalist sympathies went to the homes of the loyalists and they were usually given a few days to leave the state, taking with them only a few possessions.
