Why did the Romans steal the Greek gods and goddesses?
They did not steel them as such, they just incorporated them into their culture and religion, the same way they did to certain Asian and Egyptian gods. In fact they didn’t so much “plagiarize” Greek religion as find parallels between Greek mythology and their own (which was already of a similar nature), and thus considered the mythology of the Greek as “additional information” to their own.
