Why did the North American Indians develop different cultures?
Climate, topography and the availability of resources meant that different tribes developed different cultures in response to those factors. The Plains tribes relied on following the buffalo and were largely nomadic. THe Pueblo and Anasazi of the south west developed sophisticated dry land agriculture. The tribes of the west coast lived a life based on fishing and seafood,. The north eastern tribes were settled, and relied on agriculture.
