Why did the New England Revolution star Clint Dempsey leave the mls?
Dempsey was probably the best player in the MLS, and Fulham wanted him. It may be hard as fans to accept the transfer, since it is rare in “American” sports for that to happen, but just look at it this way. If you’re a big time player like Daisuke or Ichiro, do you want to rot and play against most liker inferior competition? Or do you want to prove yourself on the biggest stage? One would rather play in the MLB than the Japanese league. One would rather play in the NBA rather than the Euroleague. One would rather play in the NFL than the AFL. It’s just a matter of seizing the opportunity to shine on the bigger stage, and Dempsey deserves that chance.
