I watched the program on the science channell about it and they said there was no absolute proof, but it seemed to be a combination of many different things including the Maunder Minimum. One of the other things was that the Gulf stream reversed direction due to melting of ice in the arctic. If that happens now, many people would starve to death, millions of them. That’s why global warming is so scary. If enough of the ice cap melts the cold water will be lighter than the warm salt water and won’t sink so it could change the direction of the Gulf Stream which is the only thing keeping Northern Europe from being covered with glaciers. There are so many more people on Earth now that we can’t afford to lose the farm land in Norther Europe, Asia, and North America. The only hope for man is to find a clean alternative fuel.
