Why did the licensing procedure change with the release of version 6.0?

In prior versions, the end user had 10 licenses and could generate 10 Activation Keys with the purchase of the software. This created several problems for us and our users. First, many doctors said that they shouldn’t have to pay for 10 licenses when they only needed 2 or 3 installations. Secondly, if the user wanted to upgrade their computer systems or had a hard drive failure as mentioned above, they would have to use one of their 10 licenses to generate a new Activation Key. Beginning with v6.0, the user will purchase the original software package, which will include one License CD. This will allow installation and operation of Acuity Pro on one computer. Additional License CD’s for other computers may be purchased at a reduced price. And thirdly, we discovered that more licenses meant more support. Users would have several different types of computers with several different operating systems and while some installations went smoothly, others did not requiring a call for our support
