Why did the English execute king charles I?
Well, if you really knew Charles you might want to kill him yourself. Charles had one of those prickly prissy personalities that just made people want to slap him up alongside the head. In fact it was a miracle that the English waited so long to execute Charles. But the reasons involved were long and convoluted and deeply entwined in English History most especially the history of people governing themselves and the role of the monarchy in the governance of the nation.
