Why did the english colonize america?
The original reason why the English colonized America was because the original colonists were Puritans and came to America in order to escape the harsh rule of the Catholic church, and the beginning of the English Reformation when the first colonists came to this nation. The first English also came to America in order to escape various other harsh realities of English life. Many prisoners were also sent to the “Americas” as well.
