Why did the CMA music festival need to be evacuated earlier today?
The CMA Music Festival is a 4-day music festival centered around country music hosted each June by the Country Music Association in Nashville, Tennessee.[1] Begun in 1972 as Fan Fair, the event now draws over 400 artists and celebrities who hold autograph sessions and perform in one of the many concerts offered throughout the festival. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Heavy ran and severe thunderstorms forced evacuations Thursday morning at Nashville’s Riverfront Park. Fans, in town for the annual CMA Music Festival, were told to clear the park along the Cumberland River as the storm line moved through. The free concert set to begin at 10 a.m. was delayed about an hour until the weather cleared. Gretchen Wilson took the stage around 11 a.m. followed by performances by by Phil Vassar, Chuck Wicks, Heidi Newfield, James Otto, the Randy Rogers Band and Diamond Rio, among others. Officials with the CMA Music Festival are evacuating music fans at LP Field due to approaching storms. L.P. Field is the location for the event’s major concerts.
