Why did the City of Westminster make further changes to motorcycle parking?

The motorcycle charging scheme was implemented under experimental traffic orders, giving the City Council the opportunity to gauge reaction and to review the arrangements of the scheme before either scrapping, confirming or varying the orders. Based on formal objections received and the recommendations of the City Council’s Built Environmental Policy and Scrutiny Committee, proposals to keep but improve the scheme were formally submitted to the Cabinet Member. View the Cabinet Member report here. On 20 May 2009 the Cabinet Member made the decision to make the scheme permanent but with improvements.
