Why did the CIA fund Germaine Greers feminist Ms Magazine?
Note: it was Steinem, not Greer. The meteoric success of feminism has be so rapid that some people claim there was a shadowy helping hand in the background. It is amazing how quickly the cranks of the early 70s came to occupy positions of serious power e.g. Hariet Harman was a student radical in the early 70s, and had been deputy head of the UK government for a number of years. Ms Magazine – a main source of feminist information from the late 60s – managed to get financial backing on a scale not seen by ANY other lobby group. In fact this supposedly underground magazine was so wealthy that at one point they stopped using advertising as a source of income. Where did they get their backing from? This is still a source of controversy, but nobody doubts that feminism’s incredibly rapid passage into the establishment is very suspicious.
