Why did the chinese government relax the one child policy?
The one child policy is self-explanatory: 1 child per married couple It’s sensible to have only 1 kid because it’s cheaper and it keeps a nation of billions from over-populating an already over-populated country I heard a report that said the gov’t was relaxing their one-child policy because many chinese couples wanted boys, so they would give up their girl babies to adoption agencies, or have them aborted. So 20-30 years after that was common practice, the chinese are looking around and saying “why aren’t our sons married yet?” Because THERE ARE VERY FEW GIRLS! (in proportion to the male population). I don’t know what china might be like in a few years, but i think they should continue with the one-child policy to control the population.
