Why did the baby-boomer generation decide to enrich themselves at the expense of their children?
The baby-boomers rely on us to take care of them in their older vulnerable years. Don’t ever steal from the next generation – That’s stupid. As for properties, our generation will need to buy them from our parents. If we can’t afford them then the prices will drop. Pensioners will soon be faced with inflation which will effectively adjust their pensions down (arguably to where they should be). University educations have never been free, except for certain scholarships. As Reagan noted, if you give away free gov money for scholarships then the colleges will adjust their prices higher. This is exactly what has happened. You neglected to mention the healthcare system. With the latest debacle of a Federal Bill, the healthcare system will be underfunded for recipients. This will drastically affect the care for the elderly. I had this conversation with my parents. My Dad agreed and my Mom got upset.
