Why did the Appraisal Institute want to create the Commercial Database?
Appraisal Institute members and associates are highly regarded within the industry for knowledge, ethics, expertise and above all, commitment to the advancement of their profession. It is apparent that technology and real estate data are becoming more integrated in the decision-making process. Rather than passively watch as control of data shifts from appraisers to a much more diverse group – title companies, data providers, realty and accounting firms, etc. – the Appraisal Institute chose to proactively reestablish the role of its members as the recognized source for the highest quality commercial real estate data and analytics.
