Why did terrorists attack the world trade center?
bin Laden wanted to launch a jihads war against Saudi Arabia and Israel to take over the holy sites of Islam and impose Sharia law like in Afghanistan. The problem was that after the real Gulf War the U.S. had established permanent bases in Saudi Arabia so bin Laden needed a way to draw them out. The simple solution was to attack the U.S. and draw us into a war, he thought that the nations if Islam would take up the cause and back him in a war with the U.S. thus strengthening his position to take over the Middle East. His plan almost worked when bush invaded Iraq.
