In my opinion, Steve Thomas Rooney left This Old House because he hosted it for over 14 years, and eventually decided to move on to bigger thing that can truly make a difference in the world, and became ambassador and spokesperson for Habitat for Humanity.

Steve has been off the show for I believe 2 seasons. This should be starting his third season this fall if I am not mistaken. They never said why on camera he was replaced that I can remember but just introduced the new host. In fact Kevin is very good he was one of the House that Tommy went to to help them take off their wall paper. Steve is missed (just like you know who was before Steve) but Kevin is just as funny and good on screen give it a try you might like him!
