Why did StemCells, Inc. not acquire Stem Cell Sciences plc instead of its operating assets?
The London and Australian Stock Market rules would have required an expensive and long-winded process which the Company did not have the cash to survive through and StemCells, Inc. wanted to use the fastest and least costly option. The legal fees involved in acquiring Stem Cell Sciences plc (as the Company was then called) would have been a very substantial proportion of the total deal value.
