Hitler joined the pact because he knew that war with britain and france was imminent and knew he wouldn’t be able t win if he was fighting on two fronts so by doing this it kept stalin at bay till he delt with the french and british Stalin joined because he knew that Hitler had plans to take over Russia and abolish Communism but he didn’t know when t would happen therefore he agreed and thought this would give him enough time to build his army and be ready for a war with Germany.
