Why did some chinese dynasties last longer than others?
the earlier dynasties had not been exposed to the rest of the world as they were an isolated civilization. methods of war and battle played a part as well, before the demise of the Samaruai, battle had to be conducted hand to hand;therefore it was harder to kill the leaders. As progress happened there was more turmoil, and thus it was harder to maintain a steady line of heredity to continue the succession of the throne. Additionally, the power vested in the king was stripped and the position became only a ceremonial one. Without power, forming a line of succession the chances of were even less.
