Why did SMU decide to organise the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition?
SMU is a university with a core focus on business management and other related disciplines. Our education philosophy is not simply to produce more business graduates or more accountants but to bring education to a higher plane – to groom visionary leaders and global entrepreneurs who can contribute and value-add to society. In organising a global business plan competition like this, SMU aims to help flame the vision, passion and drive for entrepreneurship in students at the tertiary level; and to encourage budding entrepreneurs to see and seize opportunities in the midst of uncertainty in order to continually innovate to stay ahead of their competitors through innovative business ideas.
