Why did sea floor spreading prove important in supporting the plate tectionics theory?

Before the sea floor the Earth’s waters used to fall into the magma of the core and rise as steam. Aliens knew our planet as ‘The Misty Mystery’ because they couldn’t see what was going on down here. They did send flying saucers but it was no good, their windows would just steam up. Then, God invented tectonic plating and laid it over the molten magma (Only He knows how) which stopped the waters from turning into steam and indeed formed lakes and then seas and eventually became oceans. The idea of ‘sea floors’ spread across the universe and today, many planets have adopted the idea. This is known as ‘Sea floor spreading’. Hope this helps you to listen to your tutor more carefully.
