Why did SalesDesktop propose me to select an installation folder, and which folder should I select for it?
On the first run, SalesDesktop will require you to select an Outlook folder, where Salesforce.com items will be downloaded and stored. Currently, SalesDesktop supports these types of folders (message stores): • Personal Folders Files (PST) • Exchange mailbox (Cached mode) • Exchange mailbox (Non-cached mode) If you are using an Exchange mailbox in the non-cached mode, please, consult with your Exchange server administrator to ensure that all the most recent updates and patches are applied to the Exchange Server. Numerous errors have been reported when SalesDesktop was connected in the non-cached mode to Exchange Servers that had been operated without all the latest patches and updates. If you experience problems with SalesDesktop when connected to the Exchange server in the non-cached mode, try switching to the cached mode. Other types of message storages are not supported.
