Why did PTDA and AHTD develop the COGS Guidelines?
A. The goal of both associations was to neither initiate nor encourage COGS data collection by suppliers. Rather, reflecting that distributors are increasingly required to provide such data, the guidelines were created to clearly lay out the issues related to COGS data, help protect distributor proprietary information and minimize costs for those distributors required to submit reports to multiple suppliers.
