The H.R. department has evolved over the years. As government regulations become more complex, the H.R. profession has had to evolve to accommodate the changes. Where Personnel professionals dealt mainly with employee relations and payroll, today’s H.R. professional must be knowledgeable in Strategic Management, Employee Relations, Employee Development, Risk Management, Benefits, and Employment and Labor Regulations.
