Why did people die on the titanic?
When the ship hit the iceberg, it popped all the bolts in the ship and made a large slit in the side around 100 feet long. The whole boat broke in half and people and objects slid down to the bow of the ship (the part that was in the freezing cold water). Here they died of hypothermia. After the boat split in half, it took no longer than 15 minutes for the boat to be completely emerged under water. Most people were sucked down into the sea with the ship because of her weight and force in the sea.
