Why did Obama choose Rick Warren for inaugural headliner?
I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. One can only guess at why Obama selected Rick Warren to speak. My guess is that Rick Warren is well-known among those who did not vote for Obama and Obama wants a wider audience. Obama sacrificed morality for politics. I fully agree with you that people who focus on denying rights to others are not worth meeting half-way. I can see that gay people are upset that Obama would trample on their campaign to gain rights. As a person who cares very much about the civil rights of others, I was devastated as much as any gay person. My enthusiasm for Obama went down the drain. We know from a moral point of view, this was a bad pick, but I think it was a bad pick from a political point of view as well. From what I have read, the gays rightly so expect pay back, and if Obama wants to hold onto his core, he will have to deliver or at least some of his funds and support will dry up. I can’t see Obama getting much in the way of support, funds or votes
