Why did Neuroactive vocalist K. Karjalainen leave the band after the release of “Transients”?
J. He didn’t enjoy our music. He wanted to do something else. He got bored with synth-pop. I think he felt that Neuroactive was too “clean” sounding. It was really a shame ‘cos I really liked stuff we did together. SL. Featuring guest international vocalists isn’t unusual for Neuroactive. Can you reveal us the origins and ideas originally conceived for “N-Gin” and how the album came into its final form several years later. J. As always, I create ideas for a new album right after a previous release. Then, I start to create material for it. At first, I was planning to make a totally instrumental album but when I started to compose songs, they formed like vocal tracks. So, I started to contact guest vocalists. I had worked with most of these artists in the past, remixed or cooperated with them in other ways. It just felt natural. When you are using different vocalists, it helps to create diversity and then maybe attract a wider audience. I have some sort of need to progress as a musician
