All refilled batteries have a “digital memory effect.” This capacity recognition can be corrected after running through a few charge/discharge cycles (refer to FAQ 6). However, this specific situation requires battery calibration. We have seen some laptop batteries run for over 2 hours even when the battery gauge was only at 9%. Most laptops come with a Battery Calibration feature in Bios (press F1, F2, or Del key when computer boots). If your laptop has this feature, please calibrate your battery. Most Compaq and some laptop brands have battery calibration programs available for download. If you cannot find the calibration option in Bios nor the downloadable calibration program, try fully charging and fully discharging a minimum of 3 times.
