This is normal and is a natural trait of buffalograss sod. Newly installed Buffalograss sod usually goes about 80% brown. Keep the area saturated until it roots firmly to the ground. Buffalograss sod usually starts shooting roots within a few days after installation. We have found that the sod will remain green if an ample amount of water is applied within a few minutes after installation.
