Why did my dwarf rabbit die suddenly after seeming fine all day except for decreased appetite?
Sadly, sometimes rabbits do up and die like that. I know our rabbit, Monty, did last March (’07), except that he was fine one moment and the next moment (literally, when I went to take a shower, them came out), he was dead. Our family was devastated, because he was just barely two years old. Like the previous poster, it could’ve been VHD, but we won’t know about our own Monty. It also could’ve been mucoid enteritis. Did your rabbit have diarrhea? Runny/milky stool? -We- may never know the cause of our Monty’s death and you may never know the cause of your own rabbit’s death. It’s unfair, that much we know. I’m very, very sorry for your loss. Just know that these things are unpredictable and you did what you could to provide him with the best life he could’ve asked for.
