Why did Mosaic Telecom quit using PPPoE, WinPoET, and MacPoET?
PPPoE is Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet. WinPoET and MacPoET are software programs that establish a PPPoE connection to the Internet. Mosaic Telecom no longer utilizes PPPoE as a connection method. All broadband connections should now be made using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). DHCP does not require installing additional software. If you currently use MacPoET or WinPoET to connect to the Internet, you can stop using it.
