Why did Michael Jackson turn white?
He had a skin disease called vitalligo (spelled correctly). It’s found basically in dark skinned people, and what happens is that certain areas of the skin lose their pigment permanently. The only way to correct this is to lighten all of your skin so you don’t have ugly patches of white all over your body.
He had a skin disease called vitiligo. And yes, it is a real disease — I know because two of my family members have it. He was still proud of being African American, and said so in interviews. But he couldn’t help what happened to him, and used makeup or other means to even out the many white blotches that appeared on his skin because of this illness.
Skin bleach. It’s getting to be quite the thing to do in India and is called Light and Lovely. He couldn’t have had vitiligo because if you’ll notice his fingernail beds in pics, they were still brown. If he had vitiligo, they would’ve turned white, too. But you can’t bleach your fingernail beds because the fingernail is there, so – that’s what happens.
