Why did Michael Jackson break up the Jackson Five?
He strayed from The Jackson 5 to further his own career as an “adult” artist. He felt the Jackson 5 was stuck as being seen as a “boy band” type and he wanted to go further. Additionally, he also felt that his Father (who was managing the band at the time), was indeed holding him back and making poor decisions for the band. Michael felt he would be more successful on his own, as a solo artist.
