Why did March Hare Software begin charging for CVSNT?
CVSNT is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and is commonly referred to as Free Software as defined by the Free Software Foundation. As of June 30, 2009 the Free Software Foundation have advised that we should charge as much as we wish or can because by funding development, we can advance the world of free software: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/selling.html March Hare Software have provided the development resources for CVSNT since 2004, including the releases: 2.0.51, 2.0.58, 2.5.01, 2.5.02, 2.5.03, 2.5.04 multi-site and the latest 2.5.05 Unicode (with advertising) release. We have done all this without charging mandatory fees as we are now being encouraged to charge by the Free Software Foundation.
