Ancient Egyptian culture had well established set of traditions and rules of art for thousands of years, these traditions and rules would not be easily changed by others. It was easier to merge with the Egyptian culture to the point of merging religions together as happened with the Greeks and Romans who gave their gods an Egyptian name and shape.
