Why did LinkedIn introduce regions based on the postal codes for the Netherlands?

Presumably not everybody in the Netherlands has included their postal code, since the number of contacts from the Netherlands has dropped from a share of 4% to non existant in my top 5 of regions. Also I am living in Dordrecht, a town near Rotterdam. But according to LinkedIn I am living in the Amsterdam area. If LinkedIn has to use regions in the Netherland please make a difference between the Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht and Eindhoven region. That gives a better view of the major economic regions in the Netherlands.
